My age is 55 years female with normal blood pressure and thyroid history. I have been recommend to take etizola 0.25 mg for 6 months after meal at night. Is it okay to take this medication for 6 months?

Hello, Thanks for the query. I have seen the query. There is no mention as to why was the drug Etizolam 0.25 mg prescribed to you. Because this medication is given to reduce anxiety and help relax. Since you have been asked to take it for 6 months, then it needs to be taken for that period. However, the medication should not be discontinued in between without doctor's permission. Even on completion of the specified period please do not stop the drug abruptly. Talk to the doctor who has prescribed it. Since you have "Thyroid history" (whether hypo or hyperthyroidism is not mentioned), it is necessary to maintain normal thyroid function as hypothyroidism is known to lead to anxiety and hyperthyroidism also does cause disturbances. Hello, etizolam is a drug to reduce anxiety symptoms. You haven't mentioned about the reason for prescribing. It is safe to continue for 6 months discuss with your doctor while tapering the doses because it should be discontinued abruptly.
