Ideally at your age fbg should be < 100 mg, pp 150 to 160 mg & hba1c% <6.5%. So it is clear that your current medication is inadequate. Plus we have to look at your dietary pattern and extent of daily exercise and overall lifestyle. Because those aspects are more important than the drugs. As regards covid and its problems, it is observed that older persons with diabetes (invariably not well controlled) and having high bp tnd to get much severe disease.
