Hi. During the start of the pandemic I went for a check up to the doctor and my blood sugar was on the higher side. Post that he advised me cetapin 500 extended release twice in a day, morning and after dinner. Now after more than 1 year my morning blood sugar is approx 140, 2 hours after eating approx 160, and 120 in the evenings and 150 during bedtime. Should. I continue with the same medication.

Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query. I have seen the details. Please understand your glucose levels are lower mainly because of taking the medication metformin 500 mg twice a day. The moment you discontinue the medication glucose levels will go up. Please understand for controlling the glucose levels apart from medication adapting a modified lifestyle is more important. I hope you are aware of that. Another important criteria is your hba1c%, which has not been mentioned. Also there is nothing written about your dietary pattern, extent of daily exercise, weight ad height. These aspects are probably more important than the actual medication. So please look at those aspects. Considering your young age there is a need to remain in good control. Thanks.
