Hello, Thanks for the query. I have gone through the details mentioned. Madam, it appears you have subclinical hypothyroidism, because for diagnosing hypothyroidism TSH needs to be > 10 mU/L. However, you also have a problem of excessive menstrual bleeding, which may possibly be due to hypothyroidism. But taking Thyronorm (dosage not mentioned) is not going to stop bleeding. For that you will also need to take some hormonal tablets. Thyronorm is given to increase your T4 levels and in turn reduce TSH & bring it to the specified range(0.5 to 5 mU/L) To correct TSH levels it takes at least 4 weeks of treatment. So please continue the treatment and also ask your gyncologist if there is any other tablet required to control bleeding. As regards hypothyroidism treatment needs to be continued for life time. Another important aspect is that with a BMI(Body Mass Index)of 38.73 kgs /Sq meter(Normal < 23kgs/Sq meter) you having almost grade 3 obesity. Your ideal body weight should be about 36 kgs considering your height. So there is an excess of over 24 kgs. This could be due to untreated hypothyroidism. This can also lead to PCOD, which does lead to menstrual irregularities. So apart from correcting hypothyroidism (TSH 3 to 4 mU/L), there is need to work on reducing the weight. So please look at that. If you have any questions please do come back. Thanks.
