I took various kind of antidepressants (SSRI) for almost 20 years continuously or discontinuously, but never felt fully okay and also faced many side effects. So I decided to quit those ssri pills a few years ego. After that I have been experiencing withdrawal symptoms as well as facing many negative incidents in my life. Now I neither continue antidepressants as I have panic on those pills, nor can quit. Is there any alternative treatment to overcome this situation? Please help.

Dear user. I can understand. Depressive disorder or depression is a neuro chemical disorder. Suicidal tendency is one main symptom of depression. You must be able to distinguish between mental disease and mental disorder. Your problem is a mental disorder. Not a mental disease. These mental disorders are usually treated with a combination of medicines and other means like awareness, meditation, psychotherapy techniques, life style changes etc. Take care.
