Hello, in control as in kindly update fasting and post meal values also with hba1c. Hoping levels to be with in normal limits. Diabetes is a treatable a disease. It can be manages with medication but cannot be totally cured. So basically the medicines cannot be discontinued. If the patient is maintaining normal glucose levels with in going treatment it is better to continue the same treatment. How ever, regular checks with the glucose levels and hba1c need to be done at least once in 6 months to make sure right treatment is going on.

Hello, Thanks for the query. I have seen the details given. It is good to know that diabetes is in control. Since no actual numbers are given (fasting, PP glucose levels, HbA1c%) it is difficult to know what is "in control". Please understand that the glucose levels are in control because of medication. The moment one stops medication, the levels will again go back what were earlier. Treatment of diabetes is to be continued for lifetime. Another important aspect about which no information is given is details of his weight, height, extent of daily exercise, dietary pattern, lipid profile,, age, kidney functioning and BP. All these factors are very vital. Apart from drugs diet, exercise and weight control are very crucial in achieving a strict glucose control. So please come back with those details. Remember, the treatment has to continue, there is NO STOPPING OF IT. If you have any questions please do come back. Thanks.
