Dear doctor, However, I don't know the risk for my wife and bay. If you can help me, i'd appreciate it. I am 3-4 weeks pregnant now and this will be my 3rd kid. Last week, we were away from home and stayed in my mom's house. My mom didn't know about the pregnancy because it was in an early stage. Later we learned that she used bayer's k-othrine (active ingredient deltamethrin) insecticide on the kitchen countertop. She applied it by dissolving in water and then spraying on the surface. As we learned from her, she has applied by spraying the mix at night and wipe it in the morning. We had been in the kitchen sometime during the day and I actively used the things on it. I try imagine the worst case scenario regarding to my exposure: 1. I have touched the cloth that my mother wiped after spraying the insecticide at night. But before I came into contact with it, that cloth was probably washed several times with water by mom. 2. The insecticide applied on the counter at night probably dried by morning but remained on the surface. During the day, kitchen utensils such as plates, cups, cutlery, etc. May have touched that surface and I may have used these utensils. However, those counter surfaces are wiped several times during the day with wet clothes, again by mom. These are the worst scenarios I can think of. I don't think my mother used too much insecticide. She may have sprayed the insecticide dissolved in water 2-3 times in the same area. We stayed in this house for 3 nights in total. I read about the ill effects of this pesticide on pregnant mice and babies in the article. It is not possible to say for sure about the effects, I am aware of this, but I would like to get information from you in the light of your experience. Have my wife and baby been affected by this pesticide under these circumstances? What are the chances? If she is affected, which I hope isn't, is there anything we can do about it? Does it leave a permanent effect on the baby such as developmental delay or etc. Can we notice these effects before birth? I had to write long, I am really sorry to take your time I would be very grateful if you could help me.

You can understand that such scientific studies are not done on human pregnancies to give scientific answer. Routine sonography done at fixed timing during pregnancy diagnosis major problems and nothing else is required. Better to get rid of anxiety
