If you're planning for a pregnancy it is advisable to continue Metformin and aim for Hba1c less than 5.6 and fasting sugar less than 95. It is difficult to tell whether your gestational diabetes has reverted as you are still on metformin. Gestational diabetes usually subsides after delivery, but there is a risk of developing frank diabetes the future.

Probably what u had is gestational diabetes, which occurs only during pregnancy. However, you will have to follow a good diabetic diet as there is higher risk of getting type 2 diabetes later in life. In case you are planning for pregnancy again, please check your fasting pp and HbA1c along with thyroid levels before conception so that a good outcome is ensured for you and the baby
