Hello, thanks for the query. From the description it appears he might have developed some memory loss, that can happen with aging. However, 55 years is not an old age. You may need to consult a neurophysician or neurologist. As regards his diabetes, it is quite clear that there is no proper control. Because hba1c% of 9% and high fasting and pp glucose levels show that. It is clear that current treatment is totally inadequate. There is a need to upgrade the same. Ideally foe his age fbg should be < 100 mg or closer tp 100 mg, pp 150 to 160 mg & hba1c% < 6.5%. Please understand persistent high glucose levels damage micro & macro blood vessels, leading to serious long term complication affecting retina, nerves, heart, kidneys and lower limbs. So please take necessary action and get the treatment upgraded. Thanks.
