I am 34 years old suffering from anxiety my doctor have prescribed me paxotus 25, ativan 2 mg, I was previously taking pari cr forte. I have started this course 30th june, I am feeling heavy head all the day so my doctor prescribed me with stablon 12.5 (twice a day) now when I wake up in morning I still feel head heavy, I feel somewhat good after yoga and taking medicine after breakfast but as the day ends I again feel heavy head and at night I take paxotus 25, ativan,stablon at 8 pm. My question is that is this normal behaviour of medicine or should I switch the medicine?

Dear Samip, Heavy head feeling may NOT be the behaviour of medicines. It may be due to your anxiety and depression itself or a medical cause or posture problem. Both paroxetine and stablon take 2-3 weeks to reach the brain and act. Both these medicines are at the lowest dose now. It will be increased when you consult your doctor again. You need not switch the medicine without adequate dose and time is given for it to work.

The heaviness is likely due to the medicine only. Consult your psychiatrist again and get the dose revised. If it still continues seek a second opinion. Good luck.
