My neurologist prescribed "pregabid 75 mg" thinking that I have nerve compression in my upper and lower back. But after 4 months, when my pain was not going, he again diagnosed me, and it came out that I have some muscle spasm in my back. Still, he has asked me to continue taking half pregabid for 20 days, then on alternate days, then stop it. But I want to stop this medicine now. So could someone tell me how to stop this medicine, because after stopping I get back pain again, so should I take hifenac Mr. which is a painkiller. Rather than taking pregabid for 40 days?

You are too young to take medicine, so my suggestion would be not to take medicines regularly for back pain rather you can take some rich food ie. Calcium and iron supplements which will be helpful for you to improve much better. For muscle spasm in the back you can keep ice pack which will definitely help you to progress better. You can try to improve your posture also which will help you to get out of the muscle spasm. Back pain may get worse with movement or if you sit or stand for a long time. It may get better if you switch positions or walk around. It looks like you are anaemic. And also you have to check with your vitamin and calcium, if the bones are weak then automatically the pain gets triggered more as there is less energy during any metabolic activity.

are you doing any back strengthening exercises. if not then pain will return. along with pain medicine or with pregabalin you need to start back strengthening exercises. once back has gained enough strength which it needs pain should go. unless you have some organic pathology in spine.

Hey lybrate-user you can take a long acting once a day painkiller for your back muscle spasm. This way you can reduce the pill burden and also avoid taking pregabid. Regards.
