I tested positive for chlamydia igm with result of 3.29. After treatment of 2 weeks with doxycycline, I tested negative at 1 month with urine test and 3 months with swab test. Now I went back at 6 months for another igm test and it?s positive at 3.18.does this mean I still have chlamydia. I haven?t had an sexual intercourse since I had my treatment 6 months ago.

IgM antibodies may remain detectable for 2-4 months (or longer) following disease resolution; therefore, a positive IgM result may not necessarily indicate 'acute' infection and additional testing (e.g., IgG testing) may be necessary to interpret results. Reinfections are charac- terised by an increase in the IgA and/or IgG titer in the ab- sence of an IgM response.
