Dear doctor, my wife aged 47 years is suffering from multiple uterine fibroids and pelvic scan done on 3rd september, 2021 shows: uterus: bulky 13.5 x 8 cm with 6.8 mm endometrial thickness, multiple fibroids 5.4 x 5.6 and another 6.8 x 6 cm. Urinary bladder: normal. Ovaries: normal ro 3.9 cm lo 4.5 cm. Adnexa: normal. For last 1 year, periods were abnormal and sometimes bleed heavily for 3 to 4 days. During abdominal pain, she used to take drotin-m and calpol for last 9 to 10 years. Then, she took fibroease 10 mg for 3 months under the supervision of family doctor. There was no periods or pain during these 3 months and pelvic scan done on 30th december, 2021 shows: uterus: 11.7 cm with multiple fibroids uterus largest 4.4 x 3.7 cm. With 8.7 mm. Endometrium with cystic changes. Urinary bladder: normal. Ovaries: normal ro 1.4 cm lo 1.8 cm. Adnexa: normal impression: fibroid uterus with cystic changes in endometrium? Adenomyosis. Please correlate clinically. Please give your opinion in this regard. Thanking you in anticipation. With regards s.s.dey.

Hello, if the scan shows adenomyosis then you should opt for hysterectomy.
