Hello, may be he can be put just metformin 500 instead of glimiprex. But hba1c levels apart from other tests are important designing for medication plan. Type 2 diabetes responds very to proper diet plans as well. Therefore I suggest you to take my consultation for proper evaluation. There is a good possibility to stabilise his condition.

Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the query, where you have mentioned that the glucose levels are around 80 to 100 mg. 100 ml. But there is no mention about whether these are fasting levels or of which time. Secondly there is a need to know his pp glucose levels, hba1c%, weight, height, bp, dietary pattern and over all physical activity. One important aspect is that the drug glimiperide present in glimiprex has a fairly long duration of action, hence can induce low glucose (hypoglycemia) particularly in older age patients. Therefore, there is a need to change the current treatment if he gets repeatedly "low glucose levels" so please do come back with all the necessary information in a private conversation, where I will be able to give specific instructions plus prescribe the necessary drug/s. In this communication we are supposed to give only general advise. No drugs can be prescribed. If you are not willing for online help. Please do contact your local physician and get the necessary change done. I await your response. Thanks.
