I am taking thyronorm 37.5 for tsh. My tsh was 10 t3 andt4 normal .after taking thyronorm it decreased to 2 but after one year it has increased to 9. What treatment is required. Should l increase the dose and why it is increasing.

Mr. lybrate-user upadhyaya, thanks for the query. Usually when adequate dosage of levothyroxine is being taken tsh is maintained around 3 to 4 mu/l at which all the symptoms are in check. So if the tsh level has gone up that means there is a need to increase the dosage further. One has to also look at t4 & t3 levels along with that. Thanks.

You might need to increase the dose. Thyroid hormones are replaced on the basis of weight.
