These are definitely symptoms of depression. Your medications may need dose adjustments and addition of a mood stabiliser to get the desired improvement. Kindly discuss with the psychiatrist and get the needful done. Addition of cognitive behavior therapy would also help. Good luck.

Dear Lybrate user, it must be hard going through depression. If you are having frequent suicidal thoughts, please consult a psychologist immediately. I would suggest that along with medications, consult a psychologist as well. A combination of medication and psychological counseling/therapy works best. Although medications give you relief to an extent, therapy can help you manage your concerns with certain strategies and techniques. Especially cognitive behaviour therapy is proven and widely used to treat depression. Therapy will also help you in the long term. And once you have learned to manage depression, you can also reduce your dependence on medications. Also, I want you to hold on to hope, you can definitely cope with all this and be productive at work and get back on track with the right help. There are people to support and help you. Please consult a psychologist. This too will pass. Please try to do somethings that you really love, eat a balanced diet, exercise. Find social support among family and friends, go for therapy. All of these will help you along with medications. All the best! if you need help you can contact me as well. Regards, aaradhana reddy counselling psychologist.

All major depressive disorders can be treated fully with proper dose of antidepressants like, prothiaden, flunil, venla or mirtazapine. The dose needs to adjusted to control your symptoms. It needs to be taken for many months. All the other precipitating factors need to solved by therapy. You can find a psychiatrist in your district headquarters.
