Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. However, you have not given any specific information like: current fasting, after food glucose levels, hba1c% (current or even the earlier one), lipid profile, bp readings, your age, dietary pattern, extent of daily exercise and medications being taken if any at present. Please come back with all the information that I have asked. Looking your height and weight with a bni (body mass index) of 31.14 kg/sq meter (normal < 23 kgs/sq meter) you are already in grade 1 obesity. Your ideal body weight should be about 67 kgs, which means there is an excess of 23 kgs, which is an invitation for diabetes. Another important aspect you need to understand and remember that t2 diabetes can usually be very well controlled, but invariably not completely cured. So the treatment including the necessary lifestyle changes have to be continue for lifetime. It is better if you come back with all the above mentioned information in a private conversation so that I will be able to give specific guidance as well as will be able to prescribe necessary drugs. In this communication we are supposed to give only general guidelines, no drugs can be recommended. If you are not keen on online consultation then please do contact your local doctor urgently as there is a need o initiate the treatment immediately. I await your response. Please remember it is necessary to maintain fasting glucose < 100 mg, pp 150 to 160 mg & hba1c% < 6.5%, to prevent or postpone the long term complications associated with diabetes. Thanks.
