Dear Ats, Libotryp has a benzodiazepine in addition to amitriptyline. Usually doctors don't advise benzodiazepine for long term use. Amitriptyline will work well after 2-3 weeks. If you have food allergies, start working on it.

Hi ,libotryp contains amytryptaline and chlordiazepoxide. Tryptomer just contains amytryptaline. Chlordiazepoxide is addictive and given as short term. Hence your doctor has changed the medications. You could ask your doctor to review and consider alternative to chlordiazepoxide.

yes, you should. chlordiazepoxide in libotryp also has significant contribution in symptom control in IBS, which plain amitriptyline might not be able to do alone.

Hi. Depending on the total time for which you have taken libotryp ds would give us idea that how much you have become dependent on it. Maybe sudden stopping of chlordiazepoxide may be causing a bit of anxiety feeling, and making you feel discomforted. If you wish to consult regarding this, contact me on my profile.
