Is it common fir copd patients to experience phlegm in the throat regularly. I am having this problem although I have no cough or sore throat but from time to time I get this phlegm. I do gargles everyday to keep my throat clear.

Some patients with copd have increased mucus production. This is because they have more goblet cells than people without copd. They may also have oversized mucus glands in their airways. This overproduction results in a chronic cough.
