Sudden decrease in dosage is not advisable as it would lead to withdrawal symptoms. It is called discontinuation syndrome which is common after discontinuing snris eg. Venlafaxine need to gradually decrease the dose. I,e decrease to 75 mg 1.5 tabs a day for 2 weeks and then decrease to 75 mg once a day for next 2 weeks it at all you would wish to discontinue. Personally I would suggest you to take opinion of your treating psychiatrist before any decrease in dosage.

Interactions between homeopathy medicine and in this case allopathy medicine have not been studied and it is risky. Kindly follow any one stream of medication for few weeks or months, if it helps continue the same, else shift to the one which helps. Good luck.

Hi Rajashekar Reddy! The sudden discontinuation of allopathy medicine to herbal or ayurvedic medicine would result in such consequences, it is always advisable to take the concern of the Doctor for reducing the dosage or discontinuation of medications, so that Doctor would prescribe medicine in such a way that you can slowly stop as the duration and dosage would be better according to the Doctor who would have a profound knowledge about the medications and side effects....Take care.... Dear lybrate-user, please consult your doctor for reducing the dose of velaf or using it along with homeopathy. The symptoms you have got, may be due to side effects of velaf or your anxiety disorder not controlled well. Both needs to assessed and treated accordingly. The psychiatrist may reduce the dose or change to another antidepressant or send you to a physician to rule out medical causes.
