20, female, overweight. diagnosed with adhd, prescribed inspiral sr 20. Helps with symptoms and with oversleeping (10 hrs). I think it might be causing me back pain as well (have to sit and study for long, I do take breaks to stretch in between). I used to have back pain earlier as well due to studying. It could be that as coming back as well. Should I change the medication? Or take the 10 mg version?

Your backpain is most likely not a side effect of the medication. Please contact your physician if you feel you need to change the dose of your mediicne for amy other reason. Losing weight and regular exercise with breaks between sitting times, and good posture will reduce the back pain.

If your doctor has diagnosed ADHD and treating the same, no worries. Follow up regularly. Get your back pain evaluated as you are obese, it can be due to other spine related issues. Do not alter this because of back pain. Good luck.

Backache has nothing to do with medications. At this age most common cause is inappropriate posture while sitting, sitting for long hours in front of computer or with a mobile in hand in inappropriate posture. Self evaluate for these causes and rectify the posture in which you sit throughout the day. Do some stretching exercises for back as your problem could be because of lack of strength in bower back muscles as well. Preferably do dhanurasana ,ardha chakrasana if you know yoga so that your lower back gains good strength.
