I take the sugar tablet after tiffen in the morning. Sugar test is done once in the morning before eating anything and once after eating. When should I take the second sugar test? Should it be taken after breakfast or after lunch?

The blood glucose tests are usually done in the following manner: fasting blood glucose (fbg) - done after 10 to 12 hours after food, so usually in the morning on empty stomach (10 to 12 hours after dinner). Water can be taken. Post-prandial blood glucose (ppbg) 2 hours after eating either breakfast or lunch. Random blood glucose (rbg)- this is done any time of the day. Another important aspect with regard to your weight and height with a bmi (body mass index) of 28.67 kgs/sq meter (normal < 23 kgs/sq meter) you have an excess of over 15 kgs. This causes hindrance in insulin action and hence bad glucose control. So there is a need for reducing the weight to desired level. Plus at your age fasting glucose should be < 100 mg, pp 150 to 160 mg & hba1c% < 6.5%. If you have any questions please do come back. Thanks.
