lybrate-user ji, thanks for the query. I have seen the query. However it is very general. From the details given I can not comment what medications she needs or why she has been advised to take those. You will have to provide following specific details for me to understand the situation: her age, weight, height, dietary pattern, extent of daily exercise, fasting & pp glucose & hba1c% (when diabetes was diagnosed), bp readings, serum creatinine & urea as well as lipid profile. So please come back with all the information, preferably in a private conversation. Usually insulin advised when blood glucose levels are very high at diagnosis time. Aspirin is given to prevent platelet aggregation in coronary arteries.(arteries supplying blood to heart muscle). In other words for maintaining proper movement of blood in those vessels. As regards metformin it is usually the first drug of choice in a newly diagnosed patient when glucose levels are not to high. I hope you understand the need for all the information and will come back with that. Then only I will be able to give my opinion. Thanks.
