Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. From that it is clear that blood glucose control has gone hay wire. It is good to know that you have stopped taking alcohol. However, once glucose levels have gone bad it takes lot of effort which includes giving a closer look at the diet, extent of daily physical activity and medications being used. So my suggestion is please come back with following: current fasting & pp, hba1c%, serum creatinine, urea, cbc, lipid profile, bp readings, dietary pattern and extent of daily exercise. It is better if you come in a private conversation, where I will be able to give specific advise and also prescribe necessary medications. In this communication we are supposed to give only general guidelines no drugs can be prescribed. If you are not keen on online consultation then please do contact your local specialist and get the necessary changes done. Ideally fbg should be < 100 mg or closer to it. Pp 150 to 170 mg & hba1% <7%. Thanks.
