I am asking for a 71 year old lady. She was diagnosed with mild thyroid 3 year back & given 12.5 mg thyronorm. She has taken medicine sometimes only & not regular. She got herself checked now her tsh is 12, t3 t4 is under normal range. My question is she is quite old & not used to much medicine etc. What is the advised dose as of now which she can take safely pls recommend.

Hello, thanks for the query. Since she has high tsh (12 mu/l) there is a need to continue taking 12.5 mcg thyroxine regularly. If she has not taken it for quite some time then after she starts taking 12.5 mcg she needs to check tsh again after 6 weeks. Thanks,
