Hi Fathima, if you are taking Yasmin for contraception the advice is not to wait for periods but give a break of exactly 7 days before staging next pack. During those 7 days you are protected by the effects of previous pack and don?t need additional contraception. If you wait for periods and start from 2nd day or so, and assuming periods start after 1 week, the protective effect if gone. So if Yasmin was given as contraception, don?t wait for periods, wait for 7 days and start next pack. If given for other issue/s, you are safe for upto 7 days after last pill.
