Whenever I drink alcohol my weight increases rapidly and as I leave drinking it reduces why is so that?

Hye. Thank you for your query. There are many reasons for weight gain. Firstly, alcohol has the same amount of calories as fat. Secondly, the foods you eat along with it are usually high in fat. Both these will make your body gain weight. Most often the loss you see later is not fat loss but muscle loss and water loss. Hence, after a long time intake of alcohol people tend to gain unwanted fats, either visible or as internal gain of body fat percentage. Alcohol has no health benefits. Hence, there are no recommendations really. But keep to occasional drinking, avoid very oily spicy foods along with it and stay physically active.
