Sir I got my metal braces. And my right side wire is a bit long and it is hurting while touching my mouth. My dentist asked me to wait for one month. Is it ok to wait for one month or it can cause mouth cancer.

No, it is not ok. Tell the dentist to give you a small wax strip. Take a small piece roll it in your finger and press it against that sharp metal piece .it will resolve your problem. Regular irritation in the mouth is one of the risk factors for oral cancer.

Its better to get it corrected but if your doctor is asking you to wait for the appointment then apply wax or cotton over it, so that it will not cause any ulcer or lacerate your cheeks no it will not cause cancer.
