Usually following any infection blood glucose levels do tend to go up, unless one takes all the required precautions in terms of diet and medications. In case of covid, if steroids are given during the treatment, then blood glucose bound to go up, because corticosteroids are known to increase blood glucose levels (they are diabetogenic). As now you are on treatment if well controlled then your fbg should be < 100 mg, pp should be 150 to 160 mg & hba1c% < 6.5% considering your age. Since there is no mention of current glucose levels and hba1c%, no further comments can be made. If glucose levels are not coming down as mentioned, then there is a need to look at the over all treatment including diet, extent of daily exercise and weight control.
