I am type 1 insulin dependent diabetic taking injections every day for last 10 years. Recently I read about insulin pens which look less intimidating. How are they different from injections and are they better or worse?

There are many types of insulinis. Most of them are available in pen. If you are type 1, you would benefit from buying a permanent insulin pen. You would only have to change the cartridges when the insulin gets over inside. Most companies have helplines in place to assist taking of the injections.
