My tsh is 3.87 and I have just found that i'm pregnant, my gyne suggested to start thyroid medicine. Just wanted to confirm if we have this much tsh do doctors prescribe thyroid tablets. Tablet name sugest sr 200. If I take thyroid tablet it will not affect baby right?

Dear lybrate-user, tsh of 3.87 in pregnancy is a borderline high value. I suggest that you repeat a tsh after 1 month and tpo antibodies and let us know so that we can decide if you need thyroxine during pregnancy
