My wife, 65, a regular gym enthusiast, developed pain in the right shoulder which did not abate with any medication. A u. S scan indicated tendonitis. It is persisiting for the last 6 months. What is the remedy if there is one? is surgery an option? presently she applies topical gel and stretch band over the affected part. Your expert opinion please.

It seems you are suffering from frozen shoulder syndrome. Kindly show me rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Do hot fomentation ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days you will need other supportive medicines also. Do neck & shoulder exercises it may have to be further investigated make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Surgery is usually not needed in such cases. But if at all it has to be done, you may come to delhi, we have some very good centers that look after this type of problems.
