Doctor I am taking oxcarbazepine 300 mg and ativan 1 mg and lonazep 0.5 mg at night for mood disorder for last 10 years. One doctor advised me to take zolpidem 10 mg at night and quit ativan and lonazep. Doctor kindly guide.

Hello lybrate-user your doctors advice is right ativan and lonazep both are benzodiazepines which cause dependence. Meaning you can get addicted to them. In the long term the addiction will result in memory disturbances, gait disturbances etc which you must avoid right now. Reduce it slowly over two months but do reduce it.
