Are there any mental screening tests to find out the extent of depression? I mean tests like brain imaging, MRI etc.

Neuroimaging techniques like mri and ct scan are not very much specific for depression although they show some findings. Newer imaging techniques like fmri is much better for detecting psychiatric disorders but its very much expensive and currently used as a research tool and seldom as diagnostic tool.
