Is coconut meat good or bad? I am aware it increases weight but what is the allowed quantity to eat coconut meat? Can we coconut meat along with rice? Should we need to skip rice or a meal in order to eat coconut meat? I have been eating coconut meat on a daily basis when I was young. It was cooling and it helped constipation far better than the vegetables or fruits. Nowadays everyone is creating fear to avoid coconut meat because of its fat content.

Hi, Coconut meat is good for health. Its rich in electrolytes and minerals, also good quality fat like MCT. These fats are absorbed and digested easily, thus considered good for health. Having said that, coconut is high in saturated fat and so if consuming it on daily basis then other fat intake should be dropped. Since its a source of fat it can be eaten with steamed rice, Vegetables and proteins as a balanced meal (reducing the fat intake from the other sources). Coconut intake portion would be inversely proportional to other sources of dietary fats.
