Hello sir/mam, my father has diabetes and his blood test results are as below fasting glucose- 119 post prandial glucose - 183 hba1c- 6.6% microalbumin in urine is- 174.81 please let me know what is the reason for why albumin in urine is high. Earlier he has 58 .even after taking medicine for diabetes, it's been increased. Is it serious issue?

Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. His glucose levels & hba1c% are all quite good suggesting very good control of diabetes. As regards microalbuminuria, it does happen in a person with diabetes and even hypertension (high blood pressure). That is because in both these conditions there is a load on the kidney function. However, 174 mcg is a bit high, but not alarming. There is no information about his age, serum creatinine & urea as well as blood pressure. It is essential to know these parameters too.
