Hi I am 44 years old male, body weight 79/80 kg, height 5 feet and 8 inches and have diabetes and blood pressure both. My fasting sugar remains around 130 and post prandial goes up to 240 without medicines my hba1c is 7.7. My blood pressure ranges around 145/100. I came across homeopathy medicine uranium nitricum. Which can treat both diabetes and hyper tension. I want to know how much potency of uranium nitricum is good for me as there are different potency/powers of medicine available online for example uranium nitricum 6ch, 12ch, 30ch, 200ch, 1000m etc. Please suggest appropriate potency of uranium nitricum or other appropriate homeopathy medicine for diabetes and blood pressure in my case with report as above. Hello, thanks for the query. I have gone through the details mentioned. Let me clarify, I am not a homeopath, so no comments can be made on your specific query on that particular medication. However, since I am a diabetes specialist, I am giving my opinion which may be accepted or not. To treat diabetes only known medications are from the modern drugs. A lot of claims are made about other medications, however, there no properly done double blind clinical studies showing unequivocal results about effectively controlling blood glucose. Since you are only 44 years, it is absolutely essential to achieve a strict blood glucose control as well a s maintain a normal range of bp. Ideal blood glucose needs to be: fbg < 100 mg or closer to 100 mg, pp 150 to 160 mg & hba1c% < 6.5%. These levels ensure that the long term complications associated with diabetes affecting micro & macro blood vessels, peripheral nerves (affecting retina, kidneys, penis, heart & lower limb blood vessels) can be either prevented or postponed. Similalry bp needs to be maintained around 120 - 130/ 70 - 80 mm hg, to prevent load on heart and also on kidneys as well as retina. So with the above medication that you have referred, if you are able to achieve these target levels, it is excellent or else it is essential to get treatment with proper modern medications.
