Hello! generally internal healing after wisdom teeth removal lasts for 6 to 12 weeks, after which both bone and gums settle. Some people fail to maintain that area clean after the treatment out of concern that their gums might become injured. There can be 2 reasons for the pain: 1. Reinfection of the wound area due to improper oral hygiene. 2. Any cavity in adjacent tooth. 3. Traumatic extraction in that area. My advice: 1. Warm saline rinses- 4-5 times a day with lukewarm water- 1glass water - 1 tea spoon salt- 2 min gargling and spit it out. 2. Local application of hexigel thrice a day after meals and rinsing with warm water. Using clean fingers for application. 3. Use extra soft brush with superfine bristles to clean. Next steps: physical examination and x-ray if needed. For further analysis, get that area checked by a dentist.
