My son 10 years old with 54 kg weight is suffering from frontal lobe epilepsy, his current medication is 300 mg tegrital twice daily + 150 mg lacoset at evening and 100 mg in the morning. Now he is again starting getting episodes. Should I increase the lacoset dose and by how much?

Hello Lyndem, first of all how frequently he is getting seizures? if more than two times per month then we can increase the dose 150 to 200 twice daily. If the seizure frequency is very rare then not to increase the dose . Frontal lobe epilepsy are more resistant to treatment that’s why dose should be modified according to frequency/age/weight. Sometimes additional tablet maybe needed.
