Mr. Lybrate-user singh, first thing is your bmi is 35.28 kg/m2, showing grade 2 obesity. This is one of the major reasons for diabetes. You have abn excess of 35 plus kg weight. Weight reduction it self will give a great relief in blood sugar control. You have said that sugar level is maintained with diet and present treatment. But no mention of current fasting or pp sugar level or hba1c%. Unless those details are given I can hardly comment. In diabetes apart from drugs, diet and exercise and reducing weight (having normal weight) are equally important. What do you mean by blood sugar" increases with intake of sugar" a person with diabetes is not supposed to take direct sugar or sweets as that will cause almost immediate increase in blood glucose level. All the food stuffs that we consume like rice, roti, chapati, roti, potato, sweet potato and many other cereals, everything is converted to glucose only as starh present all these. But sugar taken directly gets converted to glucose almost immediately, hence to be avoided. You probably need to work on reducing the weight and controlling diet and upgrading he present treatment. Thanks for the question.

You probably need to work on reducing the weight if your bmi is more than 24 and controlled balanced diet with some physical activity of your choice at least for 50 mnts daily and proper sleep of 7-8 hrs and make yourself stressfree to manage sugar level.
