Hi, leukoplakia develops in smokers or tobacco chewers and it is pre - cancerous. The first and foremost thing is to quit habit of smoking or chewing tobacco. After quitting habit, you can observe the patch for about 2 weeks. Also take anti-oxidant tablets. If the patch reduces in size or disappears, then no need to worry but if it persists, you should go for biopsy and removal of the entire lesion.

Are you a smoker? please stop asap. You need to follow up with the patch and observe for any changes etc. Try vitamin a for now. White patch is stage prior to cancer. Not too scare you but it is a possibility in future if you continue smoking or tobacco products gutkha etc

It may not necessarily be leukoplakia. There are many other conditions which may mimic leukoplakia. If you r using tobacco in any form, you must immediately stop that. Get a thorough evaluation done. In many conditions, quitting the habit alone will subside the condition. In case it is not leukoplakia, but other condition like leukoedema or linea alba, you dont have to undergo any treatment. Those are harmless conditions.
