I am a 67 year old male suffering from asthma (for last 40 yrs) and diabetes. I have been using glaxo's ceretide accuhaler (250/50 mg) for last 13 /14 years. It has given me excellent relief from asthma and I can exercise and walk 5 kms every day at good sped. I have recently been diagnosed with low bone density for which I am taking treatment. Does long term use of this medicine have any serious adverse effects as it contains steroids. What precautions do I need to take? is there any better alternative a available?

Sir low bone density can be due to age also. Yes it has steroid which can effect bones. Kindly take calcium and vitamin d as adv by your doctor and can try to reduce dose of seretide if possible.
