I am 43 years old woman. I had depression problem 4-5 years back due to sudden death of family member. I used to feel extremely uneasy and shivering in my hands and feet. I consulted a doctor who prescribed me dothip 25 and zapiz-0.25.i gradually decreased the amount of medicine and soon I felt normal .i used to feel uneasy only after hearing some bad news. But 2 months back, I suffered from viral fever and cough which continued for about 15-20 days followed by an accident of me and my daughter. Fortunately we both were fine but the feeling of uneasiness and stress returned. I feel uneasy in the morning and feel very weak. I consulted my doctor and he told me to take zapiz 0.25 in the morning and zapiz 0.25 and dothip-25 in the night. I want to know how long will I have to continue this medicine and is it safe to take these pills .please suggest some ways to cure this.

It is not safe to take zapiz for long. It's in your best interest if you stop taking morning zapiz after a week of use and evening zapiz after 2 weeks of use. Dothip can be continued indefinitely, as a preventive medicine, if you are able to tolerate it well. Probably you are suffering from anxiety or mood disorder and this condition is prone to relapse after treatment discontinuation. This time you can afford to stop medicine after 4-6 months of use but if the anxiety recurs repeatedly, then it would be wise to continue the meds indefinitely.

Sorry to hear about the recent events you are going through. Sadly the exact duration of medications cannot be predicted as it all depends upon the symptoms you are having. If you are having recurrent symptoms medications have to be given for a longer duration. Consult your treating psychiatrist regarding it. Hi lybrate-user. I'm sorry for your loss. Sounds like the stress and uneasiness is taking a physical toll on you as well. Chronic stress can lead to fatigue and weakness. It seems like the accident triggered some of thoughts about the unresolved stress unconsciously. You can explore how you've been thinking lately and how the accident has impacted your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Engaging in relaxation techniques such as yoga, breathing and meditation or simply investing some time in whatever you enjoy can help calm your system. Also, remember it's okay to feel stressed after an accident. One important part of processing emotions is to stay rather than fight it. Do let me know if you wish to explore this further.
