Hello doctors. Needed second opinion regarding some medicines prescribed. Nexito 5, petril beta 10 and toficalm 50 for anxiety disorder and panic when outside. My query is very specifically regarding can toficalm 50 and clonazepam 0.25 (petril beta 10) taken together as on internet search it shows both are benzo medicine. As benzo is addictive ao little skeptical to take both. If not, which one will be better to take of the two. Please help us out. Thanks.

Better avoid 2 benzos together and initially for control of anxiety take one. Toficalm will be less addictive. After few weeks stop it too kindly do these as per your psychiatrist directions and never take things onto self as many factors need to be considered while doing the same and monitoring. Good luck.

Hi. You can try psychotherapy as well, which is proven to be effective without the side effects of medicines. While anxiety has a neurobiologcal basis, it can be overriden through appropriate psychological treatment. You will learn effective coping strategies cognitive patterns and behaviors which reduces dependency on medicines. It's more holistic.

Your doubt is extremely valid as benzodiazepines have high addiction potential. Of the two, toficalm causes less dependence but I would advise you consult your psychiatrist for any change of medicine.
