My son is 6.5 years old. He has been diagnosed with mild autism since age 4. Although he is quite skilled and an artistic child, he has issues such as constant high energy, emotional outbursts, strong affinity towards certain things, less eye contact during conversation, lacks logical reasoning, concentration issues and keeps talking alone. If I would have to give him brahmi and ashwagandha, in which form and what dosage should I start with? Your response would be highly appreciated.

There are lots of times where children with autism may have extreme profeciency in a specific talent. This is called savant syndrome. It can be figured out by taking the child to a proper occupational therapy for autistic children where they not only would help the child to carry out normal activities and also would help in coping up with the child's emotional behaviour. If you look back into history you will be surprised to see so many famous personalities with the autism spectrum disorders such as tim burton. So don't worry about your child. Take him to a proper occupational therapy. Best of luck.

Dear parents, autism is an important disease and not to be underestimated. Your child is having majorly hyperactivity symptoms (autism with adhd= attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. So if only autism, then your child has to take behavioral therapy as a mainstay of your child's treatment. But if autism with adhd, then along with behavioral therapy, some drugs are needed to control such symptoms.& best person who guides you in this disease is psychiatrist. Bramhi and ashwagandha we don't know whether helps or not bcoz they are ayurvedic and we are allopathic doctors. But, don't ignore autism, as untreated autism can lead to learning difficulty and so much things in later life. So,whether to give ayurvedic stuffs or not is your choice, but my advice is to consult psychiatrist. For further child and newborn health related queries, kindly consult personally. Thank you.
