I have been on different medication since last 5 years. Since then I found that lonazep. 0.5 is the only medicine which works well for me for anxiety and sleep disorder .i have been told by my doctor that this can't be taken for long time. Recently my psychiatrist started this since february 2023. Is there any harm in the long term. Please advise second opinion?

Lonazep is benzidiazepine and better not to take alone for more that 6 weeks ideally. It seems you have anxiety with insomnia. Better you consult your psychiatrist and ask to add tab mirtazepine. It will help in both depression and sleep disorder.

Get re-assessed. It is important that a thorough re-assessment is done followed by medication plan is made. Also to be able to understand why you didn't respond to other medication. 5 years is long and you probably will need to have long term treatment where clonazepam (lonazep) will definitely not modify the disease. So clonazepam can only be a small part of the treatment and nothing beyond. Thanks.
