I had a ptca in jan 2015 and on clopidogrel 75 mg + aspirin 150 mg -1od & nitrocontin 2.6 mg bd. My bp was excellent controlled with systolic 110-120 & diastolic 70 to 80 during the last 8 years issue since my potassium was varying between 5.5 to 5.8 during the last 5 years, I was told by my nephrologist to cut arb ie olmesartan 20 mg and increase metoprolol to 50 mg bd while my potassium has come down to 4.9 within limits in 30 days after stopping arb, my blood pressure is going up to 165/96 with 50 mg metoprolol ed twice a day. Since I am a diabetic & ckd, please suggest a medicine to get my bp to a target level of 120/80 .my resting heart rate is between 60 to 75 echo is normal with only grade 1 lvdd. Ecg normal.
