I have been diagnosed with primary aldosterone. For the last 6-7 years, I have had high blood pressure and in the last 2-3 years, I have consistently had mildly low potassium levels. Salt loading test indicated pa. Adrenal vein sampling showed one gland producing 25 times more that the other gland. I am scheduled for unilateral adrenalectomy in couple of weeks. I am having a cold feet now as I am concerned what happens if the other gland does not catch up and also get issues with other hormones the gland produces. Also, I have had splenectomy, cholecystectomy and thyroidectomy done for different reasons (spherocytosis, stone and cancer respectively). I am obese. I am wondering if loosing weight might help reduce pa?
