My mother is 90 years old, her sugar level remain on margin. She had injured her hand 2 weeks before. I have applied soframycin and after few days applied betadine too, gave her antibiotic augmentin 625 mg bds for 6 days but her wound is not recovering. White fluid oze out if kept open for some time, there is no pus but redness is spreading.

Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. However it is not clear whether her glucose levels are in good control as there is no specific information. If glucose levels are not n good control then wound may not heal fast or may develop some other issues. If pus comes out means there is infection in the wound. It needs to be properly cleaned then ointments like povidone iodine can be used. If amoxy- clavilanic has not helped then you may have to use other antibiotics. Please show it to a local physician and get proper advise. Thanks.
