I have hypertension. My current bp is 164/106 though I have chewed telmisartan 40 mg and amlodipine 5 mg tablets. How can I get recover or keep my bp normal? please advice me.

Mr. lybrate-user, I suggest, 1. You monitor your bp over the next 1 week twice daily, before breakfast and dinner. 2. Get you kft (kidney function test) it's a blood test. 3. Take amlodipine 5 mg twice daily for now (no need to chew the tablets). 4. Your target bp should be < 130/80 mmhg. 5. Since you are young and having hypertension, certain things should be ruled out by means of echocardiography & usg abdomen. 6. Revert with your bp charting and blood report. Good health.
